Our Design Process.
Garden design is a big investment – what happens when you hire us?
Discovery Call.
This is YOUR garden. And your needs are the most important part of our brief. Our creativity begins the moment you get in touch. We’ll arrange a complimentary discovery call (over video or telephone) to discuss the investment you want to make in your garden and chat through your ideas. You’re under no obligation to use us and we’ll leave you to have a think about your next steps.
2. Garden Survey.
We commission a full site survey to ensure you get the most of your space and the garden you desire. This involves a detailed, scaled drawing of what currently exists from drainage and dwellings to patios and plant pots. This primary stage includes a topographical survey highlighting the different heights and dimensions we have to work with.
3. Creative Consultation.
Your garden is a reflection of your personality – so it’s important we get to know both. We’ll have a face-to-face chat so we can talk through your hopes and ideas, consider your likes, dislikes and any potential challenges you think we may encounter. It’s our job to translate your ideas and bring them to life – on paper and in person/plant form. Your brief will allow us to produce an outline design consisting of a mood board of inspirational ideas, line drawings and 3D CAD images.
4. Presentation Plan.
To help the contractor installing your garden design, we’ll provide a presentation plan. This takes your finalised concept and scales it into a 2D plan and outlines the specifications of proposed materials and equipment required.
5. Lighting Plan.
Whether subtle or striking, lighting can add warmth and ambience to your garden from intimate corners to social spaces. And it doesn’t have to dominate your budget. Britain may not have a constant climate but we can help you celebrate the seasons and enjoy the winter months from the comfort of your home with our bespoke lighting plans.
6. Construction Detail.
We’ll provide your contractor with intricate plans tailored to your needs, the aesthetics of your garden and any period features they may need to protect. No two gardens are the same – and it’s the detail that keeps it that way.
7. Planting Plan.
A garden should be for all seasons where your shrubs, trees and blooms thrive beautifully. We want you to get the most from your garden and maximise the potential of your space throughout the year. The changing seasons are spectacular. Feel inspired and cherish the changing colours, shapes and textures of your garden with our well-considered planting.
8. Contract Tender.
It takes a professional team to create our designs and we only work with the best. To save you the stress of choosing the right contractor, we draw up full tender packages for all our clients to ensure accurate pricing between quotations and recommend suppliers we trust and respect.
